Our Services

Comprehensive Plastic Manufacturing Solutions

At Modplas, we offer a full spectrum of plastic manufacturing services, from initial design to final production. Our expertise in vacuum forming, CNC cutting, and advanced CAD design ensures we can meet all your custom manufacturing needs with precision and efficiency. Discover how our innovative solutions and state-of-the-art technology can bring your projects to life.

Design Concepting

Modplas has the expertise and experience to work effectively with businesses large or small, to guide them through the initial design phase and develop effective outcomes, while providing rough estimations of all embodied costs for any given project.

3D Scanning / Reverse Engineering

Our in-house 3D Scanning and Reverse Engineering capabilities are crucial to providing highly accurate parts that fit right away, and avoiding costly mistakes during the design process.

CAD ‘Class A Surface Modeling’

Modplas offers in-house ‘Class A Surface Modeling’ which is primarily used for product design, as well as conversion of the part design into the required tooling that is essential to produce the parts.

Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM)

We use advanced CAM software for both Pattern Making and when programing simple or complex multi axis contouring for part trimming. Modplas does not do any point-to-point manual programing for trimming parts at all – this ensures optimum part fitment and ease for changes to be made in future batches, with no down time.

Pattern Machining (Large Multi-Axis Machines)

Modplas utilises three in-house machines for pattern making, achieving accuracies as precise as 0.1mm. We can process a variety of materials, including aluminum and softer materials, with most patterns crafted from different types of woods and tooling boards, selected based on their suitability for the project.

Prototyping

Prototyping is generally a required step, although it may not be necessary for less complex jobs. Once a wooden or tooling board pattern is completed, it can produce approximately five plastic parts without significant degradation before being converted into a high-volume aluminum production tool. These parts are then hand-trimmed to serve as finished prototypes.

Tool Making

Modplas manufactures all its tooling in-house, including but not limited to:

  • Aluminum molds for high-volume production (both water-cooled and non-water-cooled)
  • CNC and robotic vacuum holding fixtures
  • Fabrication jigs
  • Gluing jigs
Vacuum Forming

Modplas has the capability to execute a wide array of vacuum forming styles and techniques, and process numerous types of plastic materials, which we source from top-quality suppliers across the globe. This enables us to provide customised solutions that meet the highest standards of precision and durability for any application.

CNC and Robotic Multi-Axis Trimming

Modplas utilizes state-of-the-art machinery and unparalleled programming capabilities to trim vacuum-formed parts, ensuring superior fitment and consistency. Our highly accurate machines also boast extremely fast cycle times, resulting in reduced part prices for our clients.

CNC 3-Axis Machining of Flat Panels

Modplas also offers 3-axis Pod and Rail machining for flat panels in a wide range of materials. These machines enable us to drill holes in the side edges of panels and apply a radius to both the top and bottom of a part in a single pass.

Post-Processing & Sub-Assembly

Post-processing and sub-assembly are often necessary for finishing vacuum-formed parts. This can involve gluing or attaching two or more vacuum-formed pieces together to form a complete part, or simply gluing or riveting metal brackets to parts for mounting purposes.
